Left image The City of London Corporation (City Corporation) looks after and promotes the City of London, or Square Mile. It is headed by the Lord Mayor with the Court of Common Council being its main decision-making body. It is a uniquely diverse organisation, with a role that goes beyond that of an ordinary local authority. The City of London Corporation as a residential Landlord manages two housing estates in the Square Mile and 10 other estates situated in six different London boroughs.

 

Within The City of London Corporation, the Department of Community and Children's Services (DCCS) has a wide remit to provide care and support to the residential and worker population of the City of London. Within the DCCS, the Major Works Team consists of Project Managers, Asset Managers, Clerk of Works and Asset Monitoring Officers , currently managing projects at various stages of design and delivery across City Corporation housing estates.

Their team of architects has experience in a broad range of fields, having been fortunate to work with a variety of interesting people and organisations over the years. Their project portfolio includes public and community buildings, mixed-use developments, low-energy houses, offices, urban design, building research and guidance writing. Studio Partington were also the architects responsible for the refurbishment of the Golden Lane Community Centre

They pride themselves on their use of hand sketching to explore simple solutions to complicated problems. Their extensive knowledge of how buildings were built in the past, and are built today, enables them to ask the right questions; an important first step in getting to the best structural solution for each project
